The New Teeth in One Day, also known as All-On-4 implant denture, allows edentulous(toothless) or soon to be edentulous patients to come into our clinic the day of your oral surgery and leave that same day with a fully restored smile. This technique involves the surgical placement of four dental implants to secure a permanently fixed denture. Two small titanium implant screws are placed in the front of the jaw and two longer implants are placed at an angle in the back of the jaw. Placing the anterior implants at an angle creates two major advantages for this procedure. Firstly, the surgical placement of an implant at an angle allows for the use of a longer implant, thereby increasing bone-to-implant contact, maximizing available bone tissue for patients with low jaw bone density, and allows the implant to be secured in better quality posterior bone. This alone significantly reduces the need for additional procedures such as bone grafting. New Teeth in One Day simply uses fewer implants, more effectively to provide patients with a less invasive cost effective tooth loss solution.
Secondly, by tilting the two posterior implants, we can provide unmatched support for a complete fixed denture. You may have noticed that work tables that provide support for heavy tools or machinery have the table legs angled outwards. This provides the same concept of an extra degree of stability that angled implants afford your smile.
